April Adventures

When Fanny and Madeline came to visit, we went as a family to a Sushi restaurant that had an all you can eat Sushi buffet (along with some other foods and dessert).  Miguel slept the whole time we were there...which was quite a while, since most of us were very hungry.
I'd never had any sushi with raw fish before (only ever had cucumber rolls with all veggies and California rolls), so Dany and I made a point of trying a piece of every kind of sushi they had.  We ate all the rolls (some even had caviar) and all the nigiri that they had.  I really liked all of the rolls, even the ones with raw fish.  The nigiris were okay.  It took a little getting used to with the texture of the big pieces of raw fish, but by the end, I was glad I had tried it.
On our way home from the restaurant, Dany and I stopped to get gas, and add air to one of our tires that was a bit low.  Then we went to a tire place to get that tired either repaired or replaced, and they ended up needing to replace it, and it was going to take a while because they had a few other cars there already.  We waited for a few minutes, while waiting for Erlin to come give us a ride home to wait.  Miguel woke up and was fussy, but we tried everything to cheer him up...
Even standing him on the tire display.  It didn't work because he was so hungry.  As soon as Erlin came we went home and I fed Miguel.  Then Erlin took Dany back to pick it up when they were finished changing the tire.
Dany is one of Miguel's favorite people, especially when he wants to look at someone.  Dany can be holding him, or have him laying on his lap and Miguel will be perfectly content to just sit there and stare at him.  However, if Mommy holds him, he wants to be bounced, or rocked, or change positions constantly.  Even if Daddy's holding him while he's watching TV, he will stare at him even if he's not paying attention to him.  It's so cute to watch.

Miguel can sleep pretty much anywhere, except in his crib (or playpen) it seems.  He will usually stay asleep if he's deeply sleeping when I put him in either of them, but otherwise he'll wake up right away and scream like crazy until we pick him up.
However, he will sleep on Daddy...
...sometimes on Mommy (especially when she wears him in one of her slings or other carriers)...
...sometimes he'll sleep on our little floor cushion...
...he definitely sleeps in his car seat when we go for a ride in the car or take him for a walk in the stroller...
...but his favorite place to sleep is in his swing.  Who knows what we would do without it.
From all these pictures, you might think all he does is sleep.  However, Miguel has started to become more active during the days, and even is happy laying down and playing on his own sometimes.  This gives Mommy a chance to get some stuff done around the house, or sew some again.  Lately he's started cooing and loves to try to talk to his toys when laying on his activity gym, but gets mad after a while if his toys don't talk back to him.
One day, he even got to play with Mommy's teddy bear that she has had since she was born.  Though, the bear was taken away when she discovered he was chewing on her favorite childhood keepsake.
We went to the pool for about 45 minutes last Saturday.  The pool water was a little too cold for Miguel, so we took him in the "hot tub" (the water was still cool, but at least it was a little warmer than the pool).  He loved spending time in the water.

When Mommy and Miguel got out of the water, it was a bit windy, so while we waited for Daddy to finish swimming some laps in the big pool, we got Miguel all dried off and wrapped up in his shark towel.  It's so cute...when he's wrapped up with the hood over his head, it looks like a shark ate him and his head's poking out of the mouth.
Hope everyone else gets to have as much fun as we do.  We love spending time together as a family and watching Miguel grow.
