We Love Our Family

My mom (Grandma) and my 8-year-old sister, Kathryn, came to visit us from March 27th through April 5th.  We were very excited to have them here.  They helped around the house lots, cooked us dinner each night they were here, and gave me breaks and helped with Miguel.  It was nice to have their help during my recovery and as we were adjusting to life with a new baby.

The Sunday that they were here was General Conference.  It was fun to dress Miguel in his church outfit I made with the light blue tie, since President Monson was wearing a light blue tie too.  We enjoyed spending time as a family watching Conference and relaxing together.

We went to the pool so Grandma and Kathryn could swim.  Miguel's umbilical cord still hadn't fallen off yet, so he couldn't go fully in the water, so he and Mom just dipped their feet in the water for a little bit.  He seemed to like it...didn't jerk his feet out or cry like some babies.
That night we all went to a Florida Panthers hockey game.  It was Miguel's first game and we dressed him up in his Panthers outfit as Dany wore his Panthers jersey.  We kept Kathryn in suspense until we got there, and she couldn't even guess what we were doing.  We kept telling her we were going to a big freezer.  It was funny how much she really believed us.
Miguel got two baths from Grandma while she was here...sponge baths, but they still count.  He liked them for the most part, except for the fact that he was a little cold due to the lack of clothes.  He especially liked getting his head and hair washed.
Grandma and Kathryn left in the afternoon on April 5th, and that night, my sister, Loralie, arrived.  She stayed until the 9th.  Miguel enjoyed all the attention she gave him.

A few days after Loralie left, a vibrating rocker seat that she bought for Miguel was delivered.  The first time I put him in it, he fell asleep.  He definitely enjoyed it.  He even liked it when he was awake later, looking at the toys, and even hitting them (though most likely not on purpose).

The next weekend, after Loralie left, we went up to Orlando to visit Dany's sister, Fanny, and her daughter, Madeline, and other members of their extended family.  We took some pictures of Miguel, but forgot to take any pictures with Madeline or Fanny.  This past weekend, April 27-29, Fanny and Madeline came down, so we did get a picture of Miguel with his Aunt Fanny.  Unfortunately, we still don't have a picture with his cousin, Madeline...we need to get one soon.

In our times at home, I've gone for walks almost every day with Miguel, and he enjoys them whether in his stroller, or in one of the slings that I have.
He also enjoys spending time with his Daddy, and usually can't stop staring at him anytime he's being held, unless he's curled up, sleeping on his chest.
We recently got a cloth swim diaper that fits over the smallest size disposables (since they don't start until 16 pounds), and it works great.  So far we've only tested it in the bathtub, but can't wait to go to the pool.  His doctor said we can go swimming, but the days we would have gone lately have been thunderstorming, so of course we can't go then.  He loves the water, so we're excited to take him to the pool.

We enjoy sharing pictures with all our family and friends, and can't wait for everyone else to meet him in person.  He is such a great little boy and when he's not sleeping he enjoys looking around and taking in his surroundings.  We'll share more photos later, but until then, we hope you enjoyed all of these.  We know Miguel loves looking at them.  :)
